Outreach Support: Re-engagement in Education

Problem / referral request:
School referred young person who was a non-attender and non-engager for support to re-engage in education.

Solution:
The objective of the support was to support the YP to re-engage the YP in education.
2 mentoring sessions provided per week and 1 therapeutic session provided per week. Mentoring sessions provided an outlet for the YP to discuss their issues and to get to the root cause of why they were refusing to attend education. Therapeutic sessions allowed time and space to explore therapeutic intervention due to history of neglect within the family. An initial assessment was conducted by the clinical lead and in doing so determined the most appropriate therapeutic intervention for the YP.
This was a combined outreach project utilising PCSU and PCS.
