Problem / Referral Request:
Local authority requested support for 15-year-old female in hospital awaiting new placement. Hospital was deemed as an inappropriate placement and hospital did not have the appropriate staff to provide constant support for the young person.
Solution:
Support provided 24 hours a day including waking night to provide support to the young person where they were given company, comfort and support.
Results:
The YP had support whilst her placement was sought and there was no burden on hospital staff. The YP was able to have an outlet for her thoughts as she had history of mental health issues; YP was afforded time to do this which wouldn’t have been possible via hospital staff.
